St Paul, Minn. -- proprietors and franchisees at AmericInn International's annual parley which was held at the St Paul RiverCenter in April, are happy with the brand's putting out and direction.

Richard Smith, managing partner of AmericInn properties in Grundy Center Iowa Falls and Webster City, Iowa, said change is vital to the succes of the brand.

"You either change or you die," Smith said. "It's as simple as that. any [changes] are better than others, on the contrary sometimes you don't know what's best until you experience It's all the little things together that make an impression."

The brand is working forward prototype enhancements to increase the properties' retaining-wall appeal. AmericInn also is looking to include thicker bedding; curv shower twigs in guestroom bathrooms; bigger, heavier towels; higher thread-count sheets; and mattress pads. A breakfast display option and an improved coffee plan also are in the works.

tenderness Paskey, owner of an AmericInn characteristic in Detroit Lakes, Minn., said the brand urgencys to stay one step ahead of the competition.



"Give tribe what they want and more than they expect" she said. "They'll be pleasantly surprised and betray others. We try to update each year and [the new items] are something we'll consider at."

Paskey said she is happy the prototype improvements won't grapple properties into one look.

"The modern prototypes allow for personalization and individualization," she said. "If you are in the North forests you know you are in the North Woods"

The importance of edge-stone appeal can't be underestimated, according to Wendy Vanderbilt, gm of the AmericInn in Prairie du Chien, Wis.

"I think for the mostly part, everyone is looking fine good, but you can always take a closer look" she said. "We always retain an eye on the face We have to look worthy to get [guests] to pluck in. It's a top priority to turn the thoughts inviting."

Vanderbilt said the property's proprietors Paul and Mary Krienke, are proactive when it ensues to making guests happy.

"The firmament is the limit as far as they are concerned" Vanderbilt said. "They believe the more upgrades we do, the more our customers can descry we care and tell other commonalty about it. We have a worthy thing going, but we're continuing to think about what makes folks comfortable."

The Krienkes were named franchise proprietor of the year during the conference

Jolita Svambaryte, gm of the AmericInn in Tofte, Minn., said the changes will help the brand maintain consistency.

"If populace stay in an AmericInn and have a serviceable experience, they want to have that in another AmericInn," she said. "They really rely upon that experience there. Expectations are higher."

Performance

The brand's occupancy increased 33 percent in 2004 and proprietors and managers are optimistic that the stretch will continue.

Business is improving at the AmericInn in Fort Collins, Colo according to Kent Stine, gm

"We're kind of a high-tech area and there have been a hazard of layoffs in the area," Stine said. "That's always a relate to but we are showing a 25-percent increase in our business this year. There have the appearance to be other factors that are helping to twig the negative impacts."

Cindy Zielke, who possesss the property with her husband, Terry said she is hopeful the business increase will continue from one extremity to the other of the summer.

"We're just entering our summer season, in such a manner we're waiting to see by what means the price of gas affects our industry," she said. "We rely in succession tourism in the summer, in the same manner we'll see whether the call of the mountains prevails above gas prices."

Smith said that offering high-speed Internet access, which is mandated for all AmericInns at June 1, has helped his properties increase business.

"The Internet's on far the most requested thing," Smith said. "I can't say that I missing hundreds of people because I didn't have it, if it were not that it's had a positive effect"

The goods in Tofte is next to skiing and snowmobile trails, for a like reason the weather is important, Svambaryte said. She said that this past winter was eminent because of the large amount of snow that pitiless and she anticipates a powerful summer, as well.

Vanderbilt said the past year has been her property's best in bounds of performance. "We've got near strong businesses here," she said. "We're right in succession the Mississippi river, so we're a historic town that, one time people come here, they have a passionate affection for to come back. We've been fortunate. We haven't beared much. We have rebounded really well and things are going great."
